Didn't Do It

Privacy

Didn't Do It is a puzzle game. It works without an account, and it collects as little as it can. This page says exactly what is stored, why, where, and how to get rid of it. Nederlandse versie staat onderaan.

Playing without an account

You can play everything without signing in. Your streak, which puzzles you solved and your best times are then kept in your own browser (local storage) and never sent anywhere. Clearing your browser data erases them.

One exception: when you finish a puzzle, your time is sent so the game can tell you where it stands against other players. Without an account that time is stored under a random identifier generated in your browser — it contains nothing about you, and it exists so a single player is not counted twice.

With an account

An account exists for one reason: to keep your progress when you switch device. Signing in stores:

WhatWhyHow long
Your email addressTo recognise you on your next deviceUntil you delete your account
Your first name and surname, if you sign in with GoogleTo greet you by name and to address you as, say, "Detective J Visser"Until you delete your account
Your progress and best timesTo carry your streak and times across devicesUntil you delete your account
A session cookieTo keep you signed in180 days, or until you sign out
Sign-in links by emailTo let you in without a password15 minutes, single use

No profile picture and no contact list. Signing in with Google shares your email address, whether it is verified, and your name; the name is kept to greet you and to put a detective title in front of it.

Deleting everything

Sign in, open the account panel and choose Delete account and progress. That erases your account, your progress and your times immediately and cannot be undone. Playing without an account? Clearing your browser data is enough.

You can also write to [email protected] to ask what is stored about you or to have it erased.

Children

The game is not aimed at children under 13 and asks for nothing beyond an email address.

Nederlands — korte versie

Vragen? [email protected].
